Our diverse pallet of commercials and web spots combine unique vision with innovative design to portray brands in the light they deserve. All work below is directed by Ben Fraternale in collaboration with various agencies or clients directly.

NESPRESSO RECYCLES (SOCIAL CAMPAIGN)

Nespresso rolled out a new way for customers to recycle their pods and needed to get the word out in a clean, dynamic series of visuals. Our spot of wondrous cascading pods was distributed on all US social channels in a variety of aspect ratios for Instagram stories, Facebook, YouTube, and more.

  • Client: Nespresso

  • Agency: Weber Shandwick

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

BUY BUY BABY X BED BATH & BEYOND (COMMERCIAL)

Buy Buy Baby and its parent company Bed Bath & Beyond needed to get the word out about the revamped Baby stores across Canada. We filmed on location in Edmonton, Alberta to capture the in-store experience - the resulting series of spots aired throughout all Bed Bath stores in the country.

  • Client: Buy Buy Baby/Bed Bath & Beyond

  • Agency: FAI Design Group

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

INTRODUCING THE POLAROID GO (CAMPAIGN)

In 2021, Polaroid had generated enough success in their popularity resurgence that they introduced a brand new format for the first time in 22 years. Together, we collaborated on a unique campaign to introduce and explain how to use this tiny film and camera. With a full how-to video, individual explainer videos, and several Instagram Reels/TikToks, we created a bevy of content for the uninitiated, distributed globally and translated into numerous languages. Given my history of using Polaroids and knowledge of this amazing artistic canvas, I was tapped to write and star in the video as well.

  • Client: Polaroid

  • Directed, written, edited, and graphics by Ben Fraternale

SPINNER BOTTLE OPENER (WEB SHORT)

It’s a bottle opener, a fidget spinner, and a flashlight all in one glorious tool. Tasked with showing off this unusual product in an outlandish way, we took it out west in an homage to gunslinger classics.

  • Client: Primeline

  • Agency: TimeLine Video

  • Directed, edited, and graphics by Ben Fraternale

BETABRAND SPACE JACKET (COMMERCIAL)

One small step for man, one giant leap for jackets. The Betabrand Space Jacket is an ode to the wonder of space travel, adorned with features harkening to the suits astronauts have trusted for over half a century. I attempted to encapsulate this aesthetic in the clean visuals and retrofuturistic graphic style.

  • Client: Betabrand

  • Agency: FAI Design Group

  • Directed, edited, and graphics by Ben Fraternale

HOLIDAY SPIRIT (BRAND VIDEO)

In contrast to the sweet, joyous serenity of most Christmas content, I took this concept in the opposite direction with an explosive video. This required major commitment from the cast who basked in sparks, snow, champagne, milk, and various bursts of confetti.

  • Client: FAI Design Group

  • Directed by Ben Fraternale

EDITOR MANNEQUIN CHALLENGE (WEB SERIES EPISODE)

Editor Man is the story of a bumbling everyman who mysteriously attains the ability to edit his own life. I have directed, written, and starred in 10 episodes which were produced by the New York-based company TimeLine Video. This is the most recent installment.

  • Client: TimeLine Video

  • Directed and written by Ben Fraternale

Sportscrate (:60 DRTV Broadcast Commercial)

This broadcast spot was part of a series highlighting Sportscrate's debut as the exclusive subscription box service for sports fans. This Yankees-themed spot was followed by one for the St. Louis Cardinals and Texas Rangers.

  • Client: Sportscrate

  • Agency: L&W

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

Chemex Classic Series Coffeemaker (Commercial)

For Chemex, the story was simple: elegance in design meets quality of product. The commercial, which skewers the supposed metallic taste of Keurig, positions Chemex coffee as the bastion of superior flavor. It's 5 stars all the way.

  • Client: Chemex

  • Agency: FAI Design Group

  • Directed and written by Ben Fraternale

LANDSCAPIA (WEB SHORT)

The odds are, someone close to you has been affected by Vertical Video Syndrome. Luckily, now there's a cure. I sought to emulate the cheesy pharmaceutical commercial stereotypes with this parody, which I wrote and directed. It's all about the details, just as Horace Zontal.

  • Client: TimeLine Video

  • Directed, written, and edited by Ben Fraternale

CAPE COD BEER: VACATION IN EVERY PINT (BRAND PROFILE)

Amongst the rustic villages, sprawling beaches, and idyllic summer landscape of Cape Cod sits a brewery known to locals and tourists alike. In producing this profile on Cape Cod Beer, I knew visually placing the brewery within its local community was of vital importance to telling their full story. What resulted is a piece both scenic and contextually true to the philosophy of the client.

  • Client: Cape Cod Beer

  • Agency: Direct to client

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

Oliso: The Smart Iron Family (Web Spot)

In creating the most innovative iron on the market, Oliso also formed a colorful pallet of products, but this color story does more than flash their beautiful tools. The individual colors also indicate three individual product lines, each briefly called out in this technicolor web spot.

  • Client: Oliso

  • Agency: FAI Design Group

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

CROSLEY: TURN THE TABLES (PRODUCT SPOTLIGHT)

A product featurette spotlighting a beautiful record player was flush with possibilities. I decided to avoid the current hipster-aesthetic in favor of a different retro style, taking a neo-noir angle with the mysterious introduction. This, paired with the Saul Bass-inspired graphics which highlight the player's features makes for a unique product video that still preserves the nostalgic focus of the client.

  • Client: Crosley

  • Agency: FAI Design Group

  • Directed, written, and edited by Ben Fraternale

Arena Football League: 30 Years Running (COMMERCIAL)

To commemorate the historic 30th season of the Arena Football League, we sought to craft a piece with enough energy to match the high-octane style of the sport. The game footage used in the commercial was filmed over the span of two years in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Trenton, Washington D.C., and Baltimore.

  • Client: Arena Football League

  • Agency: Fraternale Films/FAI Design Group

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

Lil’s: (COMMERCIAL)

Kittery may be a small town in Maine, but it caught the attention of all New Englanders when Lil’s Cafe first opened shop in 2013. With this spot, we aimed to portray the dreamy sunlit glow of the bakery, giving an experiential feel to the magic of their famous crullers and coffee.

  • Client: Lil’s Cafe

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

BED BATH & BEYOND: MARKET 71 (SIGNAGE VIDEO)

Part of Bed Bath & Beyond's new store initiative was bringing the signage to life. Using stop-motion, this short loopable video was designed to briefly grab customer's attention while contextualizing the product offerings of their artisinal food section, Market 71.

  • Client: Bed Bath & Beyond

  • Agency: FAI Design Group

  • Directed and written by Ben Fraternale

OTIS MCDONALD CHANNEL TRAILER (YOUTUBE TRAILER)

Otis McDonald is one of YouTube’s most successful musicians. As a soulful and hilarious talent, we strove to avoid the stodgy conventions of typical channel trailers and had him deliver his introduction from the heart.

  • Client: Otis McDonald

  • Agency: NB Content

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale

TALAY: PARENT'S HOUSE (BEHIND THE SCENES FEATURETTE)

When approached by the pop-punk musician Talay to document the making of her premiere music video, we wanted to do more than just present behind the scenes footage. Interwoven with an interview with Talay and the director of the video, the resulting video tells a full story.

  • Client: Talay

  • Agency: Fraternale Films

  • Directed and edited by Ben Fraternale
