THE ROCKIES

Growing up a Broncos fan, I made a couple trips to Denver in my adolescence, but I was yet initiated to the true wonders of Colorado until I graduated from college. Driving across the country from New York, I rolled through the flat cornfields of the midwest with minimal stimulation. But upon cutting into the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, my entire world opened up. Suddenly I was introduced to the grandeur of nature unlike anything I’d ever been exposed to. It completely changed my life and my perspective on the country I’d been living in for quite some time. From that point forward, I resolved to make multiple sojourns into the rockies every year, which I fulfill with my frequent adventures into Rocky Mountain National Park. It is without a doubt the place I feel most at home, where I mentally recharge and settle. Photographing that experience is a big part of the meditation for me.
